WhereIsIt? 3.26 Copyright (c) 1997-2002 Robert Galle All Rights Reserved INSTALLATION ============ To install WhereIsIt? on your computer, run the SETUP.EXE file and follow the on-screen instructions. No additional actions are required. DE-INSTALLATION =============== You can un-install WhereIsIt? from your computer by choosing "Add/Remove Programs" option in Control Panel, and double-clicking WhereIsIt?'s entry. INSTALL TROUBLESHOOTING ======================= Included with the installation package is 50COMUPD.EXE file. This is Microsoft's update package for COMCTL32.DLL system library file, for both Windows 9x and Windows NT. WhereIsIt? needs to have COMCTL32.DLL updated to version 5.00.2614.3600 or newer in order to run properly. Installation program will run this update during program installation, if neccessary, and normally you can ignore this file entirely. If, by any chance, COMCTL32.DLL fails to get upgraded during program setup, you can run the 50COMUPD.EXE file yourself, and reboot computer when so requested. In some rare cases it has been known for the installation program to stop for a longer period after copying files is completed. Occasionally it completes the task, sometimes it just stops responding. This has to do with communicating with Explorer in order to create a program group and icons for WhereIsIt? . If you encounter this problem, you should be able to install the program normally if you just restart your Windows and run the install program again. If this doesn't work either (no such case known so far), you can always avoid the issue by selecting not to create a program group.
